ok, actually the first few chapters will be boring so let me fast foward it. Prolouge: some boss talking to two of his workers that they have a task to deliver a medallion straight to Salem (from Hawaii). Next three chapters: Cathy and Mitch have been competing for the couple story-telling contest and now they've gotten to the finale in Hawaii, at first Cathy had a dream or more like nightmare that the plane was going to crash. In the end it didn't. Then they won first place in the contest, no matter how bad they did. While going back the way home....it happened.
Chapter 3 (near end)
The plane shook, stopped and shook again. Cathy and Mitch opened their eyes. The plane suddenly was stable again. “What happened?” asked Cathy. “I don’t know, maybe there was a small problem with the plane,” answered Mitch. “Huh, more like a big prob-.” Cathy didn’t get to finish her sentence. The plane shook again and this time it felt like it was falling from the sky.
Oxygen masks dropped down and dangled from a curly plastic strings from the plane’s ceiling. All the passengers put them on instantly. Shockingly, the tail of the plane broke off. The plane was now in two halves. A few people screamed. The whole scene was like a rollercoaster ride. Only this rollercoaster ride kills people.
The plane hit something hard. Very hard. You can imagine the plane crashing. Crassssssshhhhhh! It didn’t look like anyone survived. But a few people amazingly did
Cathy opened her eyes slowly. She rubbed them and got up. Her head ached terribly; she felt like she had just gone for a ride that was full of twists. She removed her hands from her eyes and found herself on a beach with the plane (that was already in two) just a few meters away from her. Some passengers were calling other people, screaming, yelling and running around; others were either dead or injured. Some pieces of the plane was scattered everywhere, there was fire in certain places too.
Cathy felt very familiar with this; it was like it had happen before. She tried to recall what she remembered but she couldn’t. Far away, she heard a voice calling her; it wasn’t very clear. But it grew louder and clearer every second. When it was clear enough, Cathy realized that the voice was Mitch’s. He sounded like he desperately needed help.
Cathy tried to find his location but did not succeed. Then it struck her, everything that was happening at that moment was just like in her dream. The cries, the plane, Mitch’s voice, everything! But if her dream really was coming true, then that means later she’ll have to.....
“No! No!” murmured Cathy. She knew she has to make some changes before it was too late, but what about the explosion that was going to happen? It could happen at any time. Surely she won’t have enough time to find Mitch and save herself. According to her dream, the explosion will happen right after she had gone dizzy and ran into the jungle. But when was that?
Cathy couldn’t decide whether to continue looking for Mitch and get herself killed or run into the jungle and live but become lonely on an island which no one knew if it ever existed for the rest of her life.
Her instinct was telling her to run and hide, but her heart told her to go on looking for Mitch. Which will she choose? To die or to live but be lonely for the rest of her life? Time was running out; Cathy knew she had to react fast. So, without much thinking, she darted into the jungle.
And like what Cathy had predicted, there was a huge explosion right behind her. She narrowly escaped; but her head was racing with questions. What about Mitch?!? Did he survive? Where was he anyway? If he was near the plane then he would be.....
“Miiiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!!!!!!” Cathy shouted as loud as she can. “Nooooooooo!!!!!! Miiiitch!!!!” Cathy continued to call Mitch. But there was no reply.
